Blind Date with a Book - February 2019
Remember the old adage, "Don't judge a book by its cover?" Well, at this event students only had a few clues to determine which book could possibly be the perfect match for them. The books were displayed for a few weeks prior to the event so kids could see which book caught their eye. Students who won their way into this event got pizza, chocolate, and a gently used book to take home.
Friendship Bracelets - January 2019 |
Once again, what is old is new again. We learned how to make friendship bracelets. It was really fun and so engrossing that some of these kids worked on their creations through class time in order to finish. Oops! Sorry teachers. Check them out!

The Giving Tree - December 2018
This Christmas we gave away close to 400 books to our students so they, in turn, could give them to someone else. The books were on display for a week before the Giving Tree event so students got a chance to see which books they might like to give to someone else. Every student who wanted to give a book away got one. We even provided some wrapping paper and gift tags so kids could wrap their gifts before taking them home.
Cat's Cradle - November 2018
What is old is new again. Cat's Cradle, Eiffel Tower, Cup and Saucer, Witch's Broom, and the Rug all made a come back for a couple weeks here in the library. It was a busy few lunch hours full of tangles and smiles.
Circuit Bugs - October 2018
Batteries, wire, LED lights, clothes pegs, pipe cleaners, googly eyes and glue combined to make some great bugs. A big thanks to Ms Spink who came each lunch for four days to make sure kids who wanted to finish their creations could.
